SAFE stands for Safe Access for Everyone.

We are a collective of passionate and experienced social justice activists with expertise in addressing public health issues. We are children and parents, social workers and students, educators and strategists, leaders and lobbyists, and proud Illinoisans. We are proximate and prepared - on the ground and in the rooms where things happen. We are not afraid to take an unpopular stance if it’s the right thing to do.
We show up, get things done, and don’t back down.
How We Do What We Do
We support and educate political candidates and elected officials that demonstrate a commitment to prioritizing root causes by fixing broken, harmful systems.
WE EDUCATE
We are building an advocacy community by recruiting and training a fleet of activists to de-silo and de-stigmatize public health & safety challenges.
WE ACTIVATE
We craft, pass, and implement state and local legislation that addresses root causes and "stops the bleeding" of urgent public health & safety issues facing Illinoisians.
